Upon receiving the complaint, police personnel from the Meharban police station rushed to the spot and initiated a preliminary investigation. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Speaking to TOI, police sources added that alerts have been issued at key entry and exit points of the city to apprehend the culprits promptly.
