Doctor Sexually Assaulted Teen Patient
Zirakpur: A doctor was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl during a medical examination at his private clinic in Sanoli village near Zirakpur. The arrest followed a complaint lodged by the victim's family with the police.
According to the FIR, the Class 11 student visited the clinic on June 16 after experiencing health issues. She reportedly arrived at the clinic between 4 pm and 4.30 pm seeking medical treatment.
Police said the doctor allegedly administered a glucose drip and informed the teenager that she was suffering from a stomach infection. However, the complaint alleges that during the examination, he sexually assaulted the minor inside the clinic.
After returning home, the distressed teenager narrated the ordeal to her mother. The family immediately approached the police.
A police team subsequently visited the family and verified the statement. The police have registered a case against the accused under Sections 64(2)(E) (rape by a medical practitioner), 351(2), and 351(3) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), alongside Section 6 (aggravated penetrative sexual assault) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, reports Hindustan Times.
Investigating officer Assistant Sub-Inspector Harvinder Singh said the victim’s medical examination has been conducted as part of standard procedure.
The police are examining his medical records to determine whether he possessed a valid degree and licence, reports The Tribune.
Further investigation is underway.

The accused compounder has been arrested, the police said. According to police, the minor had been admitted to the hospital by her family after complaining of food poisoning.
