Kerala: CM Pinarayi Vijayan launches three projects in phase 2 of Aardram Mission
Thiruvananthapuram: While inaugurating phase 2 of the Aardram Mission on Tuesday, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan informed that Cancer treatment will be decentralized in the state by linking cancer treatment centres, medical colleges and other government hospitals.
At the inauguration, CM Viajan launched three projects in phase 2 of the Aardram Mission including One Health, cancer control and annual health screening. The projects will be handled by the health department.
The objective of Aardram mission is to deliver patient-friendly, quality healthcare services in Government hospitals and to add speciality and super speciality facilities in District and Taluk Hospitals.
In the near future, the government will launch a special app, registry, and portal to assist cancer screening clinics in finding patients. Clinics will be established in all government hospitals and will operate once a week.
He also said that the government has decided to take all the possible steps to detect cancer in the patients as part of the State's cancer control programme and that facilities have been made available at all the government hospitals.
The Health Department used e-Health to conduct population-based health screenings of all people over the age of 30 for lifestyle diseases and their risk factors.

"The One Health initiative is aimed at identifying and preventing the causes of animal-borne diseases. The first phase of the project will be launched in Kottayam, Idukki, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha districts, " CM Vijayan told TH.
One Health (OH) is a collaborative, multisectoral, coordinated, and transdisciplinary approach – working at the local, regional, national, and global levels – with the goal of achieving optimal health outcomes by recognizing the interconnection between people, animals, plants, and their shared environment. The OH approach is gaining attention as the standard approach globally to combat emerging infectious diseases and zoonotic threats such as SARS or Ebola.
