Ahmedabad Hospital staffer accused of filming woman patient in x-ray room

Hospital Driver Misuses Access to Record Female Patients at Sola Civil Hospital
Ahmedabad: A disturbing incident unfolded at Sola Civil Hospital when a staff member was reportedly caught video-recording a woman patient in the X-ray room. The patient noticed the man recording on his mobile phone and raised an alarm, prompting her relatives to confront him.
An examination of his phone allegedly revealed additional recordings of a similar nature. Hospital authorities stated that no formal charges have been filed, as the matter was reportedly settled between the accused and the patient’s family. Officials from the Sola police station also noted that no complaint has been registered, and consequently, no legal action has been taken.

Dr. Singhal added that both the hospital police desk and the 181 Abhayam helpline had been informed, though the patient’s relatives chose not to pursue legal action. She also emphasized that stricter protocols for staff and visitors accessing sensitive areas, like the X-ray department, will be enforced to prevent similar incidents.
Inspector K. N. Bhukan of Sola police stated that since neither the hospital authorities nor any victim had filed a complaint, no legal action was initiated.

In light of the incident, the hospital administration has declared intentions to bolster security measures in specific areas to avert similar occurrences in the future. Disciplinary actions against the driver have also been mandated. As a long-time employee, with 15 years of service, the accused had gained unrestricted access to sensitive areas, which he misused to capture unauthorized footage of multiple female patients in the X-ray department, reports the CSR Journal.
