Bengaluru Hospital technician arrested for allegedly filming female staff

Accused Arrested
Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a 23-year-old junior technician at a private hospital in Bengaluru was arrested for allegedly secretly recording female staff, including nurses, while they were changing clothes inside the operation theatre (OT).
The accused, a native of West Bengal, had been working at the hospital for around a year. According to the investigation, the accused allegedly placed his mobile phone in restricted areas of the OT to record women staff while they were changing clothes and later retrieved the device when no one was around.

Following a preliminary verification, hospital director Dr Chetan B H lodged a formal complaint with the police. Police arrested the accused and seized his phone, which contained several recorded videos. They are now examining whether he had shared or stored the footage elsewhere. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act, police said, reports Deccan Herald.
Speaking to News 18, the Police said the accused worked in the operating theatre and had access to restricted areas meant only for authorised personnel. Sources added that the accused was allegedly in love with one of the nurses and may have recorded the videos after she rejected him. Authorities are also probing whether similar recordings were made in the dressing room.
