After being appointed as the new director of the institute on September 23, Dr Srinivas has issued a slew of measures over the past months to upgrade and ensure the smooth functioning of the institute.
Implementation of the various orders passed by the director includes punctuality in attendance, implementation of an e-office, battery-powered buses for internal transport within the campus, streamlining of patients at the New Rajkumari Amrit Kaur (RAK) outpatient department, contractual staff to remain on seats during duty hours etc.
Medical dialogues team had earlier also reported on various orders implemented by the institute including E-hospital, patient referral system, call centre facility for attendants of ICU patients and many more.
Recently, AIIMS has granted beneficiaries under the Employees Health Scheme (EHS) to get the "self-prescription" facility for some specific over-the-counter drugs starting next year. The move would come into effect from 1st January 2023, which would help them to skip over the tedious process of waiting in long queues and going through registration and consultation to get medicines.
