Andhra Health Minister promises upgrades at Govt Hospitals

Ongole: In a move to boost healthcare infrastructure, Minister for Health Satya Kumar Yadav and Minister for Social Welfare Dola Shri Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy inaugurated a state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization (cath) lab at RIMS Hospital in Ongole.
This step marks a major advancement in the state’s ongoing efforts to modernize public health facilities and enhance access to quality care for underserved communities.
The ceremony was attended by Ongole MLA Damacharla Janardhana Rao and Prakasam District Collector A. Thameem Ansaria, who joined the ministers in conducting an extensive review of the Government General Hospital (GGH) infrastructure and services.
Speaking at the event, Minister Satya Kumar Yadav reaffirmed the government’s commitment to delivering world-class healthcare to every citizen, regardless of socio-economic background. He emphasized the role of modern medical equipment, robust infrastructure, and medical education in strengthening public health institutions.
He also highlighted key government healthcare initiatives, notably the Dr. NTR Vaidya Seva scheme, which provides up to ₹25 lakh in free medical services to financially struggling families. Minister Yadav announced plans to establish 100-bed multi-speciality hospitals equipped with cutting-edge facilities in every constituency.
Additionally, he highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening teaching hospitals and noted the successful performance of complex surgeries that were once limited to private healthcare institutions.

Dr. Dola Sri Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy echoed the views of Minister Satya Kumar Yadav, emphasizing the urgent need to build strong infrastructure in government hospitals. He underlined the importance of efficiency among healthcare professionals and pointed out the crucial role doctors play in earning the trust and confidence of patients who rely on government healthcare services.

After the formal inauguration, Minister Yadav visited the hospital’s special ward, interacting with patients and personally commending the outstanding work of the medical team. He praised the dedication of Dr. Kishan Babu (HOD, Surgical Oncology), Dr. Kiran Kumar (HOD, Dental), and Dr. Prabhakar (HOD, ENT) for their contributions to life-saving care at GGH Ongole.
As the day concluded, the inauguration stood as a testament to the government's vision for inclusive, high-quality healthcare. Ministers Satya Kumar Yadav and Dola Shri Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy’s collaborative leadership is setting a new standard for public health delivery in Andhra Pradesh.
