DCGI asks all Blood banks to register on e-RaktKosh

"As per the competent authority of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, all licensed blood centres are required to register on the e-Raktkosh web portal within next one week from the date of issue of this notice of advisory," stated the notice issued by DCGI.

"Blood centres need to register to enter their data regarding bloodstock availability and update the same on a daily basis, in addition to data related to blood donors, monthly reports etc. This will benefit existing blood centres in the long run by increasing the numbers of available voluntary blood donors," added the advisory.

eRaktKosh is a Centralized Blood Bank Management System by the government that was inaugurated on 7th April 2016 by Hon'ble Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Sh. J P Nadda. e-Rakt Kosh enforces the Drug & Cosmetic Act, National blood policy standards and guidelines ensuring proper collection & donation, effective management and monitoring of the quality and quantity of the donated blood. Considering the national rollout, e-Rakt Kosh has been developed with a modular and scalable approach with configurable rule based architecture allowing customization to easily incorporate specific requirements from nationwide stakeholders.

"User ID and password after registration would be issued by e-Raktkosh," the DCGI notice stated.
