Dhubri Medical College Hospital achieves NABH Accreditation

Dhubri- In a significant milestone for public healthcare infrastructure in Assam, Dhubri Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) has received accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH).
With this accreditation, the government-run medical institution falls under the category of healthcare facilities that comply with nationally prescribed standards for patient care, safety protocols, and hospital administration.
Additionally, DMCH is expected to operate under a robust quality monitoring framework aligned with national health standards, while expanding its role as a key public health institution in Western Assam.
The achievement was announced by the Assam Cabinet Minister and Guardian Minister of Dhubri district, Ashok Singhal, through a social media post.
Following this achievement, institute officials attributed the accreditation to the institution's ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery and standardise hospital practices.
According to the India Today NE news report, Dr Ankumani Saikia, Principal of Dhubri Medical College and Hospital, stated that this accreditation reflects the continuous efforts to improve patient-centric healthcare services and acknowledged the contributions of healthcare workers and administrative support in achieving this milestone.
Hospital Superintendent Gunajit Das stated that the accreditation is expected to strengthen institutional processes and boost public confidence in the services provided at the medical college and hospital.
Meanwhile, hospital observers state that the accreditation could improve access to quality medical services for residents of Dhubri and surrounding districts by strengthening clinical administration and reducing reliance on referral hospitals outside the region for various categories of treatment.
NABH accreditation is considered a key quality benchmark in India's healthcare sector and is awarded following an evaluation of hospital systems across areas such as patient safety, clinical practices, infection control, medication management, operational processes, and quality assurance mechanisms.
