Hazaribag hospital suspended from Ayushman Bharat scheme

Ranchi: The Jharkhand State Arogya Society has suspended a private hospital in Hazaribag from the Ayushman Bharat-Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana, citing procedural lapses and non-compliance with regulatory requirements under publicly funded health schemes.
According to a UNI report, action has been taken against HZB Ford and Ortho Care after the hospital failed to respond to multiple show-cause notices issued over alleged irregularities.
Official sources said discrepancies were flagged in an analysis report submitted by National Insurance Company Limited, indicating violations of scheme guidelines.

According to the Health Department's press note, the State Arogya Society had sought explanations from the hospital through notices dated September 20, 2024, May 30, 2025, and September 23, 2025. Despite repeated communications sent to the hospital's registered official email ID and subsequent reminders, no response was received within the stipulated timeframe.
During the suspension period, the hospital management has been directed to provide normal continuous treatment to the currently admitted Ayushman Bharat Mukhyamantri Abhu Swasthya Suraksha Yojana beneficiary patients till they are discharged, as reported by etvbharat.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that following a rigorous inspection of private hospitals in Agra, the State Health Department has suspended license renewals for 45 hospitals due to serious lapses in essential medical standards. The deficiencies included inadequate deployment of specialist doctors in ICUs, a shortage of trained paramedical staff, poor medical waste management, and non-functional fire safety systems.
Notices have been issued to hospital operators, directing them to rectify these shortcomings within a week. Agra currently has 1,317 registered medical institutions, including 537 hospitals, 513 clinics, 149 pathology labs, and 108 diagnostic centres. License renewals are now being granted only after physical verification of institutions against 17 prescribed medical standards.
