Kanwatia Hospital to submit plan for new Trauma Centre

Jaipur: As the trauma care centre at Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital continues to face overcrowding and a surge in patient inflow, the Rajasthan government has directed the administration of Kanwatia Hospital to submit a proposal for the development of a new trauma centre on its premises.
The proposal, which has already been prepared by the Kanwatia Hospital administration, outlines plans to establish a superspeciality trauma centre on vacant government land adjacent to the hospital. The same proposal will be sent to the state government.

According to TOI, "The state govt asked us to submit the proposal for the trauma centre, which we already prepared. We have sufficient land available, measuring 2,300 square yards of govt land, between Kanwatia Hospital and the private hospital at the back of Kanwatia Hospital," said Dr Rajendra Singh Tanwar, medical superintendent, Kanwatia Hospital.
The proposed trauma centre will not only be equipped to handle general trauma but will also feature superspecialty services such as cardiothoracic vascular surgery, neurosurgery, gastrointestinal surgery, urology, orthopaedics, and general surgery. This trauma centre will consist of a five-storey building, with two storeys in the basement.
The hospital administration is also making efforts to collaborate with SMS Medical College for additional support in developing the necessary facilities and ensuring that the trauma centre is equipped with the latest medical technology.

Medical Dialogues had previously reported that in a bid to enhance the financial stability of government hospitals, the Rajasthan government has directed health officials to ensure the efficient implementation of the Mukhyamantri Ayushman Arogya (MAA) Yojana and the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS). The move aims to streamline the medical claim process and prevent revenue losses due to insurance claim rejections.
