Nashik to launch online registration for private hospitals from April 1

Online registration
Nashik: While it takes months for a new private hospital to obtain registration from the government, any new private hospital in the state will now have a smoother registration process after the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) decided to make the entire process online starting April 1.
Currently, registering a private hospital in the city is a tedious process that takes up to six months. Due to multiple departmental approvals and paperwork, hospital owners often struggle with delays. The newly appointed Nashik Municipal Commissioner Manisha Khatri confirmed that the new system is already under development and is expected to make registrations more efficient.

Nashik is home to over 550 private hospitals and nursing homes, all of which are required to renew their licenses every three years. Therefore, many doctors and hospital owners have welcomed the move.
Speaking to TOI, Khatri said, "We are already working on the project and it is in progress. However, online registration will help facilitate faster registrations."
A doctor who runs a 20-bed hospital shared his experience with the Daily, "I had to make several rounds to the medical department of the civic body to get my hospital registered. As registration is linked to some other departments of the NMC, I pursued those departments as well. It took me around six months to get my hospital registered."
Welcoming the initiative, he added, "The new initiative to make the registration process online is really appreciable. With this, I hope that the registration of new hospitals can be done within a month."
