Panchkula Civil Hospital nursing officer found dead under mysterious circumstances
Panchkula: In a shocking incident, a 23-year-old nursing officer was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the changing room of Civil Hospital, Sector 6, on Sunday night.
The deceased was a resident of Hisar, Haryana, and was living in Sector 31, Panchkula. She had started working at the Civil Hospital in 2024. However, on the day of the incident, she was on duty from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
After finishing her shift, she went to the hospital's changing room, where she was later found unconscious. The incident came to light after one of her colleagues found her unconscious.
Following this, she was immediately taken to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), but doctors could not save her.
Subsequently, police were informed. During the initial investigation, a syringe mark was revealed on her arm; yet, no other external injuries were found on her body. Her mobile phone was also missing from the scene.
Forensic experts have conducted a thorough search of the changing room in search of any toxic substances or medical evidence, and they are currently reviewing the hospital's CCTV footage.
According to the HT media news report, the police stated that, at first glance, this case appears to be a suicide; the Station House Officer (SHO) of Sector 7 has also confirmed that, so far, no indications of any conspiracy have been found. Currently, the matter is under investigation.
Moreover, Principal Medical Officer (PMO) Dr R.S. Chauhan stated that a board of five doctors was constituted to conduct the post-mortem on the body, in order to ensure a thorough examination.
The body was handed over to the family on Monday. The victim's family has not levelled any allegations against anyone, and no FIR has been registered at this stage.
