Punjab: Private Allopathic clinic run by Ayurvedic doctor sealed
Zirakpur: A private allopathic clinic allegedly run by an Ayurvedic doctor under the garb of MD (doctor of medicine) was sealed by the district administration after a surprise inspection revealed various irregularities in the clinic.
This comes following a raid at the clinic located at Ghazipur road, Zirakpur.
According to a recent media report in Hindustan Times, Dera Bassi sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Kuldeep Bawa said that a team consisting of medical officer Dr. Mehtab, Zirakpur MC inspector Rishab, and ASI Barinder Singh conducted the surprise inspection.

Upon the surprise visit to the clinic, they found that the patients were being allegedly treated by an attendant, Ajinderpal Singh. They also found fake stamps showing the doctor as running the affairs of the clinic with a qualification of MD (doctor of medicine), while she is an Ayurvedic Doctor.
On being inquired, the doctor failed to produce relevant documents supporting the qualification to run the clinic, reports TOI.
A banned drug, called Tramadol which is only available at the prescription of a qualified doctor was also found inside the clinic, added the SDM.
The SDM told Hindustan Times that the registration of an FIR has been recommended against the clinic's management by the administration and the issue has been forwarded to the civil surgeon for further action.
