Rs 100 crore multi-speciality hospital approved for Karnataka's Yadgir

Yadgir- Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has approved a proposal to set up a multi-speciality hospital in Yadgir while presiding over the first cabinet meeting held recently, said MLA Channareddy Patil Tunnur.
According to Tunnur, the former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had announced the construction of a multi-speciality hospital for Yadgir in the budget and allocated ₹100 crore for it. The Chief Minister had approved the proposal, and discussed during a cabinet meeting.
The multi-speciality hospital is expected to provide essential medical tests and comprehensive treatment facilities. Once operational, the people of Yadgir district will benefit from this new hospital.
According to The Hindu news report, the MLA also stated that the MRI scanning facility would become operational soon, as the initial work of installing the machine and technical equipment is nearly complete.
Speaking on healthcare infrastructure, Shivakumar stated that the cabinet has approved a major expansion of medical facilities in the state.
“Regarding medical education, we have decided to construct a 200-bed super-speciality hospital within the campus of the Yadgir Institute of Medical Sciences. Administrative approval of Rs 100 crore has been granted,” he said.
The Cabinet also approved six civil works costing approximately ₹18 crore at the Karwar Institute of Medical Sciences and granted administrative approval for the procurement and upgradation of equipment worth ₹60 crore at the Government Medical College and Research Hospital in Bengaluru.
Medical Dialogues had recently reported that in a significant decision, the Senate and Syndicate of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) have approved the construction of a 900-bed, high-tech hospital for clinical practice at the university's new campus currently under development in Ramanagara.
The university has submitted a detailed proposal to the state government and is awaiting approval to commence work.
