Rs 600 crore infrastructure launch to boost AP Govt Hospitals

This announcement was made by the Health Minister Satyakumar Yadav on Wednesday during an inspection of the Government General Hospital (GGH). He stated that the inauguration will be performed by the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, JP Nadda.

According to the TH media report, CCBs in Andhra Pradesh will add 1,275 beds to the state's public health infrastructure. While 22 hospitals will feature 50-bed CCBs, one hospital each will have 75 and 100 beds.

Block 16 is being constructed at teaching hospitals (excluding Guntur), the district hospitals of Tenali, Anakapalli, and Hindupur, and the five regional hospitals of Narasaraopeta, Palakonda, Rayachoti, Bhimavaram, and Chirala.

Each 50-bed CCB will feature a 10-bed ICU, a six-bed mini-ICU, maternity, isolation, and casualty wards, as well as beds for dialysis patients. The 50-bed CCBs are being constructed at a cost of ₹23.75 crore each, while a 75-bed block in Narasaraopeta is being built for ₹36.35 crore, and a 100-bed block in Tenali for ₹44.50 crore.

While interacting with officials and doctors during the inspection, Mr. Yadav stated that 46 Assistant and Associate Professors have been appointed at Rangaraya Medical College in Kakinada.

Additionally, MLA Vanamadi Venkateswara Rao and District Collector MN Harendra Prasad stated that an action plan worth ₹35 crore has been prepared for the development of the GGH located in Kakinada.

During the inspection, Mr Yadav also spoke with patients regarding the medical care they were receiving and reviewed the hospital's cleanliness, drinking water facilities, and bed availability. Subsequently, he interacted with patients and nursing staff at the de-addiction centre located within GGH-Kakinada.
