St John's Medical College unveils 108-bed facility at Kanakapura Road
Bengaluru: St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences, in collaboration with the Brigade Foundation on September 10, inaugurated a new 108-bed hospital unit on Kanakapura Road. The new facility marks a major expansion of the hospital’s services and reflects its ongoing commitment to improving access to quality healthcare for the city’s residents.
This facility, strategically located within the Brigade Meadows apartment complex, aims to provide comprehensive and affordable healthcare services to both urban and rural residents in the area. Spanning several floors, the new unit includes state-of-the-art facilities and advanced medical equipment aimed at delivering high-quality treatment across various specialities.

According to The Hindu, the hospital was inaugurated by Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao and Transport and Muzrai Minister Ramalinga Reddy. The ceremony was graced by several distinguished guests, including CBCI President and Archbishop of Thrissur Marx Andrew Thazhath, Chairman of the Governing Board of St. John's and Archbishop of Raipur Victor Henry Thakur, Archbishop of Bengaluru Peter Machado, St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences Director Jesudoss Rajamanickam, and Brigade Group Chairman M.R. Jaishankar.
The newly inaugurated hospital unit is designed to cater to a wide range of healthcare needs. The facility will offer general medical services as well as specialized care in several fields. Key specialities include Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Neonatology, Nephrology, Neurology, Pulmonary Medicine, and Urology.
In addition to these specialities, the hospital will offer comprehensive diagnostic services, including laboratory tests and imaging diagnostics. Essential services such as blood storage, dietetics, physiotherapy, pharmacy, and ambulance services will also be available to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
The establishment of this new hospital unit is anticipated to have a profound impact on the local community. By offering accessible and affordable healthcare services, the facility aims to enhance tresidents'overall health and well-being on the Kanakapura Road area and beyond. In addition to supporting patient care, the new unit will serve as a practical learning environment for medical students and professionals, thereby advancing the institution's role in medical science and healthcare education.
