Tenali to get 50-bed AYUSH Hospital at Rs 26 crore, says AP Minister

Tenali Gets Rs 26-Crore AYUSH Hospital, Says Nadendla Manohar
Guntur: A new 50-bed AYUSH hospital has been sanctioned for Tenali at an estimated cost of Rs 26 crore, Minister for Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Nadendla Manohar announced on Tuesday. The project is part of the Centre’s initiative to promote traditional systems of medicine across the country.
The Minister visited the old Government Hospital premises at Kothapeta in Tenali along with officials. He highlighted that this hospital is one of five AYUSH hospitals sanctioned for Andhra Pradesh by the Central Government.

The new hospital will be constructed within the 120-year-old Government Hospital premises, adjacent to the existing Urban Health Primary Centre. Noting that the old structure is in a dilapidated condition, the government decided to utilise the site to provide improved healthcare services to the public.
The proposed hospital will feature a dedicated outpatient department, 50 inpatient beds, and modern laboratory facilities. In addition, authorities are exploring the possibility of establishing a nursing college on the campus to meet future healthcare requirements.
This initiative reflects the government’s broader effort to strengthen traditional medicine infrastructure.
