Tiruvarur Government Medical College Hospital to get 50-bedded intensive care unit soon
Tiruchirappalli: Health Minister Ma. Subramanian has announced that the city will get a new 50-bedded intensive care unit at the Tiruvarur Government Medical College (TGMC) Hospital. The project will cost Rs 23.75 crores.
He also informed TH along with other news media that a Cath lab will also launch soon at the TGMC hospital at a cost of Rs 4 crores.
Similarly, a new Taluk level Public Health Centres will be established at different locations including Thiruvizhimazhalai, Vaduvur, Muthupettai and Aadhimangalam. Establishing the centres in four different areas will cost around Rs 3.23 crore.

The government had allocated Rs 16.80 lakh to 60 Health Sub Centres in the Tiruvarur district which will be soon converted into Healthcare Centres said, Subramanian.
He further confirmed that TGMC will soon introduce treatment to cure haemophilia at the hospital. Haemophilia is a rare condition that affects the blood's ability to clot. It's usually inherited. Most people who have it are male. Normally, when anyone cut themself, substances in their blood known as clotting factors mix with blood cells called platelets to make their blood sticky and form a clot.
TGMC hospital will soon install two additional dialysis units as well as telemedicine facilities for the treatment of the patients.

The following announcements were made when he visited the Primary Health Centre in Aadhichapuram to inspect the improved calorie restriction blood sugar test timing facility at the centre.
A Health Sub Center is being built at Kottaiyur in the Valangaiman taluk. He went there to inspect the progress of the project as well as also paid a visit to the Thiruthuraipoondi Government Hospital to check the installation of additional facilities at the hospital.
