TTD Board approves Rs 71 crore annual grant for SVIMS Hospital

Tirumala: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Trust Board has announced an annual financial support of Rs 71 crore to TTD-run Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) Super speciality hospital in Tirupati.
The decision was made during a board meeting held on Tuesday at Annamaiah Bhavan, chaired by TTD Trust Board chairman BR Naidu Executive Officer J Syamala Rao.
Briefing the media after the board meeting held under his chairmanship along with TTD Executive Officer J Syamala Rao at Annamaiah Bhavan here, TTD Trust Board chairman BR Naidu said this was in addition to the current Rs 60 crore financial aid provided to the SVIMS Hospital, which is the flagship of Rayalaseema for providing better medical services to many poor and needy people, reports UNI.

Besides deciding to recruit doctors, nurses and paramedical staff posts which are currently vacant in the hospital, the board also decided to complete the buildings which are under construction making them available for the patients, he said.
According to a UNI news report, the board has also decided to introduce ‘Srivari Vaidya Seva’ soon on the lines of Srivari Seva voluntary service, inviting experts in the medical field to offer services to the patients, the chairman added.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that during a Hospital Development Committee meeting at the Community Health Centre in Lakkireddipalle, Annamayya district, Andhra Pradesh, Minister for Transport, Youth Affairs, and Sports Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy appealed to the medical and paramedical staff to reinforce the healthcare delivery system in government hospitals. Addressing a gathering of medical officers, nurses, and hospital administrators, the Minister underlined that government hospitals are a lifeline for low-income groups and must provide consistent, accessible, and continuous healthcare for all.
