Twin Babies Die During Delivery, Family Alleges Negligence

Dharampuri: The death of twin babies during delivery at a private hospital in Dharampuri has raised concerns, with the family alleging negligence. This incident has sparked outrage, prompting protests by family members and calls for accountability from the healthcare providers involved.
According to police reports, a 24-year-old woman was admitted to a private hospital near the Dharmapuri bus stand on Thursday for the delivery of her twins. After undergoing several tests, it was decided that she would require a C-section for the safe delivery of the babies. The surgery was scheduled for Sunday, and the woman was taken to the operation theatre.

Approximately two hours after the surgery, doctors informed the woman’s family that there had been complications during the procedure. They requested the woman’s husband to sign consent forms to proceed further. Subsequently, the woman was transferred to Dharmapuri Medical College Hospital for additional treatment, where she was informed by doctors that her twin male babies had died.
The woman who had been under sedation regained consciousness later in the evening. Upon regaining awareness, she reportedly told her family that she believed the medication administered by the private hospital could have contributed to the death of her babies.
She also claimed that the hospital was aware of her allergies to certain drugs. On Monday, a large number of family members and concerned locals gathered outside the private hospital, demanding justice and accountability for the deaths of the twin babies. The protestors accused the hospital of negligence and inadequate care during the delivery.
The Dharmapuri B1 police responded promptly to the protest and initiated an investigation into the incident. B1 Police Inspector engaged with the protestors, assuring them that the matter would be thoroughly investigated. A case has been formally registered with the police as the investigation continues.
