New Delhi: Family members of a 20-year-old woman who died while undergoing treatment at Fortis Hospital in the Shalimar Bagh area of northwest Delhi have alleged that her death was caused by medical negligence on the part of the doctors and hospital staff.
According to the Delhi Police, a call was received regarding an alleged case of medical negligence by doctors and a dispute with the hospital staff.

A complaint has been lodged at Shalimar Bagh police station. As per the complainant's request, the deceased's body has been preserved at BJRM Hospital in Jahangirpuri for a post-mortem examination.
The post-mortem will be conducted after the constitution of a medical board by the NCT of Delhi.
It has also been alleged that despite paying Rs 18 lakh, the patient did not receive adequate treatment, reports ANI.
Further investigation is underway.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that in a recent case of alleged medical negligence, a gynaecologist running a private clinic in Bahadurgarh town was booked after the death of a 24-year-old new mother within hours of childbirth due to alleged complications. The doctor's husband is also facing charges for his alleged role in assisting her with the clinic's operations. It has been reported that the mother, after delivering her baby, experienced severe pain, following which her husband insisted on taking her to Rajindra Hospital, Patiala. However, the doctor who was attending the woman refused and asked him to arrange blood from the blood bank of a private hospital.
