Kerala: 3rd year MBBS student drowns in stream
Tirunelveli: A 22-year-old medico studying at Tirunelveli Government Medical College has reportedly been drowned in a stream near Thirukarankudi in Tirunelveli district.
The medico has been identified as a third-year medical student, Joel, who is the son of a police deputy superintendent in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

The police said that the incident took place when around ten students had gone to Thirukarankudi. Following their visit to the Nambi temple, they allegedly went to a stream inside the reserve forest which is a banned area by the forest department and began swimming there, reports the Hindu.
However, Joel reportedly drowned while swimming in that stream. Further, Thirukarankudi police said that the preliminary investigation revealed that the medico hailed from Kerala. The police have registered a case and an investigation is currently ongoing in the matter.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported a similar incident where a 20-year-old MBBS student had allegedly drowned in a pond at Vilgam Kupwara and was retrieved after hours of hectic efforts by police and locals. The police had retrieved a 20-year-old MBBS student's dead body which had gone missing while the medico was bathing inside a pond at Vilgam Kupwara on the same day at noon.
The deceased was identified as Shahid Amin Beigh son of Mohammad Amin Beigh. After searching for hours, the police, locals and the family members of the deceased finally saw the body being recovered from the pond. According to an official, at least three boys had gone untraceable inside a pond in Punzwa village of Villgam while they were bathing in the water source.
