Manushi Chhillar re-applies to MCI for MBBS migration, gets rejected once again
New Delhi: 2017 Miss World fame Manushi Chhillar continues to face setbacks on her medical education front. The Medical Council of India Board of Governors (MCI BOG) has yet again refused to approve her application for MBBS Migration from Haryana's Bhagat Phool Singh Women's Medical College to a Mumbai-based medical college.
The decision to this effect was taken in a meeting held last month, where the MCI BoG considered her application that she submitted in November after getting rejected earlier. In its conclusion, the BoG decided to reiterate its earlier decision of 13.06.2019 not to allow MBBS migration to Padamashree Dr DY Patil Medical College, Maharashtra; since it was time-barred.
Manushi Chillar is indeed the famed MBBS Medico, who brought laurels to the nation after she bagged the Miss World title in 2017. However, as her career outside academics progressed, her MBBS studies became a matter of continues controversies.
Manushi had taken admission as an MBBS student in Bhagat Phool Singh Women's Medical College in the academic year 2015-16. After winning the title of Miss India in June 2017, she applied for leave. She did not report to the medical college since then. Since she is residing in Mumbai and her family has shifted there; post the Miss World title, she wants to pursue the remaining part of her undergraduate course in Mumbai.

Earlier last year, she had filed an application seeking migration from Bhagat Phool Singh Women's Medical College to a Mumbai-based medical college and was given a No Objection Certificate (NOC) by the Pandit BD Sharma University Rohtak. However, the said NOC became a matter of controversy after it was alleged has been furnished putting the rules on hold for her and without taking permission from the Medical Council of India.
Then, the matter of her migration was brought to the apex regulator meeting on 13th June 2019 where the BOG decided not to give her permission for the said migration.
After failing to get the MCI's approval that time, Manushi applied again with the authorities. However, this time too, her request has been rejected. The MCI in the December 2019 meeting stated:
"With respect to Ms . Manushi Chhillar from BPS Govt. Medical College for Women , Sonepat to Padamashree Dr. DY PaW Medical College, Navi M umbai, Maharashtra, the BoG considered her letter dated 2.11 .2019 and decided to reiterate its earlier decision of 13.06.2019 not to altow migration since it was time barred."

As per reports in entertainment dailies, she is all set to make her Bollywood debut opposite Akshay Kumar in Prithviraj, a historical drama; which is scheduled to be released during Diwali this year.
