MCI extends online monitoring system for entry of admission for Broad-specialty PG Medical Courses
New Delhi: In view of the extension of PG medical admissions process for this academic year 2020, the Medical Council of India (MCI) has now extended the on-line monitoring system for the entry of admission for Broad-specialty PG courses.
Last month, the Board of the Governor in the suppression of the Medical Council of India (BOG MCI) had introduced an online monitoring system for monitoring the PG medical admissions in order to bring transparency in the admission process. In pursuance of the same, the MCI recently wrote to the deans and principals of medical colleges and institutions in India asking them to ensure Online filing of information relating to admissions made in Medical Colleges/Postgraduate Institute for postgraduate medical courses for the Academic Year 2020-21.
MCI also clearly stated that if the institution fails to submit the admission information of any student for the current academic year, they will have to face serious consequences and will reflect in the recommendations to the central government for the grant of permission and recognition to the medical colleges for the academic year and subsequent years basing on the online monitoring systems.
The MCI had declared that the On-line monitoring system would be open for entry from 24th July 2020 for Broad speciality postgraduate courses. A unique login id will be provided to each college.
"Through this unique login id all the Medical colleges/Institutions must submit the admission details of Postgraduate students latest by 10th August 2020 for Broad speciality courses beyond which the Colleges/Institutions will not be allowed to enter the details of the students into Student Admission Online Monitoring System for this current academic year."-- This deadline has now been extended keeping in view of the extension of the PG medical admission process.

In its recent notice informing about the said effect, the MCI has notified about the deadline extension for online filing of information relating to admissions made in Medical Colleges/Postgraduate Institute for postgraduate medical courses for the Academic Year 2020-21. The notice clearly states:
"In continuation to this office circular No. 107481 dated 10.07.2020, and in pursuance of the order of the Hon'ble Supreme court dated 30.07.2020 in M.A. No. 1282 of 2020 W.P.(C) No. 76 of 2015, the last date of admission in Postgraduate Medical Courses (Broad-Speciality) for the academic year 2020-21 has been extended from 31.07.2020 to 31.08.2020.
The on-line monitoring system for the entry of admission for Broad-specialty (Postgraduate Courses) is extended from 10th August 2020 to 7th September 2020."
Online Monitoring System For PG Medical Admissions
In order to effectively monitor that all admissions made in courses of medicine are in conformity with the requirement of Regulations, an online monitoring system has been launched by the Council. This initiative is made with the objective of ensuring faithful adherence to the norms of admission laid down in Regulations as also to further promote transparency and accountability in medical education.
Therefore, all the Medical Colleges/Institutions are called upon to submit the requisite information through an online system that can be accessed through the Council website [http://www.mciindia.org]. The council asked the medical colleges to submit the details of all the Students admitted PG (Broad speciality) during the current academic year 2020-21.
The following guidelines shall be followed by the Colleges/Institutions
1. Use the URL as wwwsnciindia.org and click on Registered user Login.
2. A login screen will be displayed.
3. Use the login credentials. Remember that the Password and the code is shown on the screen are case sensitive. Provision is there to change the password. The password should be kept confidential.
The following details shall be captured in the entry screen for Postgraduate students.
i. Course Name.
ii. Sanctioned intake capacity
(a) No. of Recognized seats
(b) No. of permitted seat (if all not recognized)
(c) Total Number of Seats
iii. Date of admission.
iv. Last date of admission.
v. Name of the student with Registration No. & with which State Medical Council.
vi. Category: (Gen/SC/ST/OBC/PH).
vii. Gender: Male/Female.
viii. National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test
(a) Percentile Score of NEET PG
(b) All India Rank
(c) State Rank
ix. Stipend
(a) Stipend paid (Yes/No)
(b) If no state reasons and send clarificatory documents with a hard copy.
(c) Stipend paid in amount
(d) Stipend paid by Govt. Inst. in your State.
x. Whether admitted on permitted/recognized seat.
xi. Name of the PG teacher under whom the student admitted.
