UP: PMSA writes to Director General of Medical Health over alleged error in Govt Doctors Transfer orders
Lucknow: A week after nearly 100 doctors had filed applications for rectifying their transfer orders issued by the Uttar Pradesh health department, the Provincial Medical Service Association (PMSA), a doctors' organization in the state has written a letter to the director-general, medical health over an alleged 'error' observed in the show cause notices issued to the hospitals regarding the transfer of doctors.
In the letter as reported in the Hindustan Times, Dr Amit Singh, general secretary, observed, "The show-cause notices have asked the head of various hospitals why names of dental wing doctors were forwarded for transfer when they do not come under Provincial Medical Service (PMS). The dental wing doctors also come under PMS. Besides, the data has been compiled by technical support units (TSUs) and monitoring is done by the office of the director of administration. Hence, their version should also be taken and brought to the notice of the deputy chief minister (Brajesh Pathak who also holds the health portfolio),"

The Medical Dialogues teams had earlier reported about the report where over 100 doctors had written applications to rectify their transfer orders issued by the health department because of various anomalies. The anomalies reported in the transfer order include transfer with two years left for retirement, transfer in violation of couple posting, and transfer within one year of previous transfer.
This is contrary to the transfer rules which state that couples working in a government department should be posted in the same district, and a doctor is usually transferred only when he has spent at least three years in a district.
Meanwhile, Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak who is also the state's health minister had also written to the additional chief secretary, medical and health-seeking an explanation of the anomalies seen over the transfer order reports the HT.
