Bhubaneswar: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous apex healthcare institute under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India, has announced recruitment for 15 pharmacist posts on a deputation basis. The vacancies comprise Chief Pharmacist, Senior Pharmacist and Pharmacist Grade-I positions under Group B.

Eligible serving employees from government and other specified organisations can apply through the proper channel.

The recruitment comprises one Chief Pharmacist post in Group B at Pay Level 7 under the 7th Central Pay Commission (7th CPC), three Senior Pharmacist posts in Group B at Pay Level 6, and 11 Pharmacist Grade-I posts in Group B at Pay Level 6. The positions are to be filled on a deputation basis.

For the Senior Pharmacist post, candidates should be officers holding analogous posts on a regular basis in Central or State Government hospitals or autonomous healthcare institutions. Alternatively, Pharmacist Grade-I officers having regular service in Pay Level 6 and possessing three to five years of experience in dispensing, inventory maintenance and pharmacy administration can meet the prescribed service requirement.

Candidates for the Senior Pharmacist post should possess a Diploma or Degree in Pharmacy, namely B.Pharm or D.Pharm, from a recognised institute approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). They must also hold valid registration as a Registered Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act. The Senior Pharmacist position carries Pay Level 7 under the 7th CPC.

For Pharmacist Grade-I, applicants should be officers holding analogous posts on a regular basis in government health departments or central medical establishments. The notification also provides eligibility to Pharmacist Grade-II officers having at least five years of regular service in Pay Level 5.

Candidates applying for Pharmacist Grade-I should be registered pharmacists possessing a B.Pharm degree or D.Pharm diploma, along with relevant clinical or hospital pharmacy management experience. The Pharmacist Grade-I post carries Pay Level 6 under the 7th CPC.

The recruitment is intended for eligible serving officers working under the Central Government, State Governments, Autonomous Bodies, Statutory Organisations, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and Research Institutes. Candidates working in these organisations are required to submit their applications through the appropriate official channel.

Candidates are required to download the prescribed deputation advertisement and application proforma from the AIIMS Bhubaneswar recruitment portal. The application form must contain accurate personal, educational and service-history details. Since the recruitment is being conducted on deputation, applications are required to be forwarded through the candidate's parent employer or department, along with the prescribed administrative clearances.

Applicants are required to submit several supporting documents with their applications. These include attested copies of APARs/ACRs for the last five years, Integrity Certificate, Vigilance Clearance Certificate, a statement of Major/Minor Penalties for the last 10 years and Cadre Clearance Certificate from the Controlling Authority. The complete application dossier is required to be forwarded through the candidate's administrative department.

The application is to be submitted to The Administrative Officer (Recruitment Cell), All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, Sijua, Post: Dumuduma, Bhubaneswar, Odisha – 751019. Applications along with the requisite documents are to be sent through Speed Post/Registered Post. AIIMS Bhubaneswar will not be responsible for postal delays, and applications received after the prescribed deadline will not be considered.

The last date for submission of applications is 45 days from the date of publication of the vacancy notice in Employment News. Candidates have been advised to ensure that their applications reach the designated address within the prescribed period.

The selection process will initially involve screening of applications and documents received through the proper channel. During screening, the institute will verify the applicable age criteria, regular service and valid PCI registration. The maximum age for deputation is generally 56 years on the closing date.

Candidates who do not possess clear vigilance clearance or who have pending disciplinary proceedings are not eligible for the recruitment. The prescribed service and administrative clearances are therefore required to be submitted along with the application.

After document screening, shortlisted candidates may be called for a personal interaction or interview before the AIIMS Bhubaneswar selection board. The initial period of deputation is three years, which may be extended in accordance with the applicable Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) guidelines.

Candidates have been advised to carefully go through the complete recruitment advertisement before applying. The advertisement contains details regarding the vacancies, eligibility criteria, educational qualifications, age limit, pay scale, selection procedure, application procedure and important dates. Applicants are required to ensure that they satisfy the prescribed conditions before forwarding their applications.

The prescribed application form also requires candidates to provide detailed service-related information, including their present post and pay, basic pay, date of appointment, date of birth, educational qualifications, category and date of retirement, along with other personal and service particulars.

The application checklist includes documents such as No Objection Certificate (NOC), Vigilance Clearance Certificate, Integrity Certificate, ACR/APAR records for the last five years, Major/Minor Penalty Certificate, service certificate containing pay-scale details, last pay slip and experience certificate.

The recruitment is specifically intended for serving pharmacy professionals who meet the required service conditions and are eligible for deputation. Candidates must possess the prescribed pharmacy qualification, valid PCI registration and the required regular service at the relevant pay level.

The recruitment notice also contains frequently asked questions relating to whether the posts are open to fresh pharmacy graduates, the maximum age limit applicable to deputation posts, the procedure for downloading the AIIMS Bhubaneswar Pharmacist application form, and whether Pharmacy Council of India registration is mandatory for Senior Pharmacist posts, reports Physics Wallah (PW).

The recruitment consequently offers 15 Group B pharmacist positions- one Chief Pharmacist, three Senior Pharmacists and 11 Pharmacist Grade-I posts — carrying Pay Levels 7 and 6 under the 7th CPC. Eligible serving officers are required to apply through their parent departments with the prescribed service records, clearances and supporting documents. The selection process involves document screening and, for shortlisted candidates, personal interaction or interview, while the initial deputation period is three years, subject to applicable rules and extension provisions.
