Bribe for License: Vigilance Nabs Assistant Drug Commissioner in Moradabad
Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Vigilance Establishment recently arrested an Assistant Drug Commissioner of Moradabad Division, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 35,000 in exchange for issuing a medical store license.
According to officials, Shankar demanded Rs 35,000 from a complainant to approve the license. After persistent negotiations, he agreed to accept the bribe in two installments—Rs 15,000 upfront and Rs 20,000 later. The complainant, unwilling to comply, approached the Vigilance Establishment and reported the matter to the Superintendent of Police.

A case has been registered against Shankar under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further legal proceedings are underway, reports TOI.
