Mumbai: Marksans Pharma Limited has reported a record performance for the first quarter of FY2026-27, with EBITDA rising 112.8% year-on-year to Rs 213 crore and profit after tax (PAT) increasing 173.9% to Rs 159 crore, while the company's cash balance crossed Rs 1,000 crore for the first time. The company's operating revenue increased 35.6% year-on-year to Rs 840.8 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.

The company's gross profit stood at ₹497.3 crore, up 38.9% year-on-year, with the gross margin improving to 59.1% from 57.8% in Q1FY26. EBITDA increased from ₹100.1 crore in Q1FY26 to ₹213 crore, taking the EBITDA margin to 25.3% from 16.1%. PAT rose from ₹58.2 crore to ₹159.4 crore, while the net margin improved from 9.3% to 18.4%. Earnings per share (EPS) stood at ₹3.5, compared with ₹1.3 in the corresponding quarter last year.

Mark Saldanha, Managing Director of Marksans Pharma, said Q1FY27 marked a strong start to the year, with all-time high quarterly EBITDA of ₹213 crore and PAT of ₹159 crore, reflecting the strength of the company's underlying business and its continued focus on profitable growth. He said the UK and Europe business recorded its highest-ever quarterly revenue of ₹356 crore, growing 74.7% year-on-year. According to Saldanha, Europe is emerging as a significant new growth engine for the Group following the acquisition of QliniQ and establishment of a front-end presence across the region.

QliniQ contributed ₹44 crore to Q1FY27 revenue, marking an initial step in Marksans Pharma's European expansion. The company also crossed the ₹1,000 crore cash-balance mark for the first time, closing the quarter with ₹1,058 crore, despite its recent acquisitions of QliniQ and ABCnow. Saldanha said the cash position provides the company with financial strength and flexibility to continue investing in organic growth while pursuing calibrated inorganic opportunities. He added that the company's focus is to maintain the momentum, scale businesses across geographies, accelerate new launches and further strengthen its European platform.
