Rs 1 Lakh Bribe Deal Settled at Rs 30,000: Drug Inspector Nabbed by ACB

Charkhi Dadri: In a major crackdown on corruption, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested a drug inspector and his broker for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000. The arrest was made during a trap laid by the Karnal unit of ACB, following a complaint by a local medical store owner.
According to a recent media report in Amar Ujala, the complainant, Vikas, who runs a medical store in Hosdapur village of Jhajjar district, alleged that a bribe of Rs 1 lakh was demanded in exchange for facilitating a license. After negotiation, the deal was settled at Rs 30,000.

The ACB team laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while accepting the bribe amount. "The deal was fixed for one lakh rupees, but the bribe amount was settled at thirty thousand rupees. The trap was laid accordingly, and the accused were arrested while taking the money," reports Amar Ujala.
The arrested individuals, including the drug inspector and a middleman, are currently under investigation. Authorities are probing whether more officials were involved in the bribery scheme.
