USFDA Inspection Ends With 1 Observation at Aurobindo Pharma's Apitoria API Facility

Hyderabad: Aurobindo Pharma Limited has announced the completion of a United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) inspection at Unit-II of Apitoria Pharma Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, with 1 observation.
The USFDA inspected Unit-II, an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) manufacturing facility of Apitoria Pharma Private Limited, situated at Gaddapotharam, Industrial Development Area – Kazipally Industrial Area, Jinnaram Mandal, Sangareddy District, Telangana – 502319.
The inspection was carried out from September 7 to September 15, 2026.
According to Aurobindo Pharma, the inspection concluded with one observation, which the company described as procedural in nature. The company stated that it will respond to the US FDA within the stipulated timeline.
Aurobindo Pharma is a Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical company engaged in the development, manufacture and marketing of pharmaceutical products. Its operations encompass active pharmaceutical ingredients and finished dosage formulations, supporting its presence across a range of therapeutic segments and international markets.
The company has established manufacturing capabilities designed to support pharmaceutical production at different stages of the supply chain. Its operations include API manufacturing, formulation development and production, enabling the organization to maintain an integrated approach to pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Apitoria Pharma Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Aurobindo Pharma, plays a role in the company’s API manufacturing operations. API manufacturing involves the production of the active pharmaceutical substances that provide the therapeutic effect in medicines. Facilities involved in API production therefore operate under stringent quality, manufacturing and regulatory requirements.
Regulatory inspections are an important component of pharmaceutical manufacturing, particularly for companies supplying products to highly regulated markets. Inspections by regulatory authorities such as the US FDA assess manufacturing facilities for compliance with applicable requirements related to areas including manufacturing processes, quality systems, documentation and operational controls.
The completion of the inspection at Unit-II marks the conclusion of the inspection period that began on September 7. The company has indicated that the single observation identified during the inspection was procedural in nature and that a response will be submitted to the US FDA within the prescribed timeline.
