B.Pharm Student Found Dead in Coimbatore College Hostel, Police Probe Underway

New Delhi: A Bachelor of Pharmacy student died in a hostel attached to a private educational institution in Coimbatore, following which police initiated an investigation into the incident.
According to a recent media report in The Hindu, the student was staying at the hostel when she was found unresponsive in her room. Fellow students and hostel authorities alerted officials after noticing the situation.
She was taken for medical treatment, where doctors declared her dead. Police later shifted the body for post-mortem examination. Police officials suspect that the student died by suicide, though investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
A case has been registered and statements are being collected from students, hostel inmates and college authorities as part of the investigation process.
The incident created shock among students and staff members at the institution, while police continue further inquiry into the matter.
The Hindu reports that the student was pursuing B.Pharm and residing in the college hostel in Coimbatore at the time of the incident. Police stated that further investigation is underway and more details are expected after completion of the inquiry and post-mortem procedures.
