Haryana Pharmacy Council Extends Registration Validity for 2022-23 D.Pharm Batch Till December 2026
Chandigarh: The Haryana State Pharmacy Council (HSPC) has extended the validity of registration certificates issued to D-Pharmacy pharmacists of the 2022-23 academic batch till December 31, 2026, providing major relief to students and registered pharmacists who were facing uncertainty over certificate expiry amid changes linked to the Pharmacy Exit Examination and revised national regulatory norms.
The decision was taken after widespread confusion emerged regarding the validity period of registration certificates issued to diploma pharmacists following the introduction of the Pharmacy Exit Examination, which has been made mandatory for D-Pharmacy holders for continued professional registration. Many students and pharmacists had expressed concern that their certificates could lapse before they were able to appear for or clear the exit examination.
Under the revised arrangement, the extended validity will be reflected in the online registration accounts of eligible pharmacists, and updated certificates indicating the new validity period will be issued in due course. Pharmacists have been advised to regularly check their online portals for updates related to certificate status and renewal details.
Officials of the Haryana State Pharmacy Council clarified that the extension applies specifically to D-Pharmacy pharmacists from the 2022–23 batch who meet the eligibility criteria prescribed by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and the state council. The move is intended to ensure that pharmacists are not disadvantaged during the transition to the new examination and registration framework.
According to a recent media report by Dainik Jagran, the issue of registration certificate validity had triggered concern among D-Pharmacy students and pharmacists across Haryana, prompting representations to the state pharmacy council and leading to the decision to extend the validity period.
Dainik Bhaskar reports that the Haryana State Pharmacy Council has reiterated that it will continue to regulate pharmacist registration and professional compliance in the state in line with national guidelines, and that any further updates will be communicated through official channels to ensure transparency and regulatory clarity.
