Meerut Medical College Nursing student allegedly raped by cab driver after spiking drink

Meerut: In an unfortunate incident, a nursing student studying at Meerut Medical College has been allegedly found dumped in the Kadrabad area of Modinagar after she was raped by a cab driver.

The incident goes back to May 30 when the victim, a native of the Lajpat Nagar area in ​​Delhi booked a cab to visit a hospital there. When she sat inside the car, the driver gave her a soft drink as it was pretty humid outside. Without thinking twice, she drank the drink and became unconscious. Taking advantage of her situation, the cab driver raped her and dumped her on the way to Kadrabad on May 31. She was found in a scruffy state.

Later, the victim tried to file a report to the Mohidinpur outpost but to no avail. She then went to Partapur police station but got refused as the area she got raped does not fall under their jurisdiction. She also failed to get help from the police many times.

The Partapur police informed her to file a report at the Modinagar police station instead of helping her who was in a terrible condition.

The victim had been paying rounds to the doors of the police station for nearly a day and finally on Thursday evening, the Modinagar police filed a complaint against the cab driver under IPC Section 375.

Modinagar's acting SHO Mukesh Kumar told Patrika "A case has been registered based on the victim's statement. A medical examination was conducted on her which revealed forced injury marks on her body. An investigation is underway to nab the accused."
