PMCH Nurse shot dead after reported Death Threats

PMCH Nurse Shot in Nalanda
Patna: In a shocking incident, a 60-year-old General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) staffer from Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) was tragically shot dead in a suspected land dispute in Nalanda district on Saturday.
The incident took place in Doiya village, falling under the jurisdiction of Noorsarai police station, while the nurse was returning from her agricultural field. She was allegedly ambushed and shot in the head by unidentified assailants, believed to be her own relatives. The victim, a widow of the late Sunil Prasad, worked evening shifts at PMCH and typically returned to her village home in the morning.
According to police, the nurse had been receiving death threats from her nephew since Friday. Speaking to TOI, her son said, "I found my mother lying by the roadside. We rushed her to Biharsharif Model Hospital, where doctors declared her dead." He alleged that the murder was committed by her cousins due to a property dispute.

SDPO Sadar-2, Sanjay Kumar Jaiswal, said, "The police received information about the murder around 10 am and reached the spot. Preliminary investigation suggests that the murder was a result of a family dispute. The dog squad and the forensic team visited the spot and collected samples. The police have launched a thorough investigation into the case. We will take appropriate action once we receive a formal complaint from the family of the deceased," reports TOI.
Noorsarai station house officer (SHO) Rajneesh Kumar said that police reached the spot after receiving information. He added that the body was handed over to the family after a postmortem at Biharsharif Model Hospital and that raids are being carried out to nab Nilesh.
Authorities are examining various angles to resolve the case swiftly.
