Odisha: Hike in salaries of senior resident doctors in 3 govt colleges
A recent action by the state government in Odisha has brought cheers to the senior resident doctors and tutors of three Government-run medical colleges. Their consolidated salaries have been increased by a significant 50% margin-taking the total salary amount to Rs 50,000 from the preceding level of Rs 25,000.
The two institutes which have been granted the new salary provision include Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre (AHRCC) and the dental college of SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack.
The new salary proposal will come into implementation from next month.
As reported by a local Odisha paper, senior resident doctors and tutors of SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, MKCG Medical College and Hospital, Berhampur and Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Science and Research, Burla would be benefited.
The decision of the Health and Family Welfare Department came after repeated appeals of the senior residents and tutors for a salary hike.

The department issued notification on Thursday after the Finance Department gave its nod to the proposal of the Health Department.
An official release issued by the Health and Family Welfare Department has further confirmed the news that the new salary would be implemented from February next.
