3rd-year MBBS student of Kurnool GMC dies in road accident
Kurnool: In an unfortunate incident, a 22-year-old MBBS student succumbed to his injuries sustained in a road accident after a bus hit his bike near Kurnool Government Medical College here.
The deceased has been identified as Tejeswar Reddy, a third-year student studying medicine at Kurnool Government Medical College. He was a resident of Pilli Gundla village of Rolla mandal of Sri Sathya Sai district.
The incident occurred on Sunday when the student, who had spent some time at the college library in the morning, was heading back to the hostel at Raj Vihar on his bullet bike. During his journey, an RTC bus from Nandikotkur depot collided with his bike near the petrol pump close to the medical college.
Following the accident, the student suffered severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital but he could not be saved and passed away.
Receiving the information about the accident, the police inspected the spot and booked a case in connection. An investigation into the matter is underway.
"The body will be handed over to the family members after formalities are completed," police told Hans India.
Medical dialogues team had earlier reported about a 21-year-old medical aspirant who died in a road accident after a speeding truck hit his scooter in Bandra (East). The aspirant had appeared for the NEET examination. She was on her way to a relative's home in Kurla when the truck collided with her scooter and ran over her body leading to her untimely demise.

Recently, a 53-year-old Ophthalmologist at the Shanmukhananda Charitable Community Health Centre, Matunga succumbed to serious head injuries sustained when an iron gate fell on her head after a speeding Omni van collided against it within a building compound in Matunga.
