Rajamahendravaram: The Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL) has allocated medical equipment and instruments valued at Rs 65.77 lakh to bolster healthcare facilities in the Kakinada district. This initiative aims to enhance medical services in the region's hospitals and community health centres.
Under this endeavour, Tuni Area Hospital is slated to receive surgical equipment worth Rs 25.57 lakh. Additionally, ultrasound scanning machines, valued at Rs 20 lakh each, will be provided to Community Health Centers in Tallarevu and Pedapudi Mandal centres. Moreover, Jaggampet Community Health Center will benefit from surgical instruments amounting to Rs 20,000, reports The Hans India.
Chilukuri Ram Kumar, Independent Director of the Minting Corporation and BJP Kakinada District President has confirmed this development. The corporation will utilize its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds to procure these essential medical resources. He underscored the significance of such contributions in bolstering the healthcare infrastructure of the district.
This initiative follows the corporation's previous endeavours in social welfare. Approximately six months ago, SPMCIL allocated Rs 78 lakh towards providing nutritious food to the Integrated Child Development Services in the district. This initiative aimed to combat underweight and malnourishment among children in the region. Duvvuri Subrahmanyam, a prominent BJP leader, lauded the corporation's commitment to social responsibility, emphasizing that Rs 1.3 crore had been allocated to the Kakinada district within a span of six months. This gesture reflects a concerted effort towards addressing crucial healthcare and welfare needs in the community, reports The Daily.
