Bihar 18 year old NEET aspirant found dead in hostel

Bihar: In a tragic incident, an 18-year-old NEET student was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her hostel room in Bihar's Bhagalpur district on Sunday night.
The incident occurred at a private hostel located in the Khanjarpur area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Barari police station.
The deceased has been identified as a resident of Araria district. It is reported that she allegedly took her life merely a few hours after moving into a new hostel.
She had passed her Class 12 examinations and was preparing for the medical entrance exam. On Sunday, at approximately 4:00 PM, she moved her belongings into the hostel in the presence of her parents and close relatives.
This incident came to light when some female inmates went to her room to visit her a few hours after she had been shifted there, but found the door locked from the inside. When repeated calls went unanswered, the hostel owner and manager, along with her cousin residing in Bhagalpur, were informed of the situation. Subsequently, the door was broken open, and the aspirant was found hanging from the ceiling fan by a bedsheet.
The police were informed after the incident came to light. The police immediately took him to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital (JLNMCH), where doctors declared him dead.
Following this, the police have constituted a team and initiated an investigation into the matter. To investigate this incident, a police team comprising experts from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has been constituted.
Speaking to the TOI, Bittu Kumar Kamal, SHO of the Barari Police Station, stated that after the body was recovered on Sunday evening, the father lodged an FIR on Monday. In his complaint, the deceased's father alleged that a young man was harassing his daughter through obscene comments, and he held him responsible for her death.
The SHO further said, “We have seized the victim’s cellphone to retrieve more details. However, the exact cause of death will be confirmed only after the post-mortem report. Investigation is underway from all possible angles, including the love affair angle if any”.
Meanwhile, preliminary investigations have revealed that prior to the incident, the student exchanged messages with someone via WhatsApp, a correspondence that included audio and video clips. These digital pieces of evidence are currently being examined. CCTV footage tracking her movements up to the hostel has also been recovered, in which she appears visibly distressed.
