NATHEALTH expands leadership, names Dr Shankha Banerjee Treasurer, Mandeep Singh Kumar Secretary

New Delhi: NATHEALTH has announced key additions to its leadership team for the financial year 2026–27, following its recent Governing Council meeting.
Dr Shankha Banerjee, CEO of Dr Lal PathLabs, has been appointed as Treasurer, while Mandeep Singh Kumar, Managing Director and Vice President of Medtronic India, will take on the role of Secretary of NATHEALTH.
According to The Daily, the appointments were finalised after the organisation’s Governing Council meeting and further strengthen the leadership structure led by Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals, who is serving as President. The expanded team also includes Himanshu Baid as Senior Vice President and Varun Khanna as Vice President.
Banerjee pointed out some pressing issues that the medical sector is facing, including the necessity of early intervention, ensuring continuous healthcare, and the importance of depending on data-based decision-making to address the increasing burden of non-communicable diseases. He further added that diagnostics will prove to be efficient in early detection and guiding clinical decisions if India aims to progress towards preventive healthcare, reports ET Health.
"India’s healthcare ecosystem is at a pivotal moment, driven by increasing demand, evolving patient expectations, and rapid innovation. He added that strengthening infrastructure, improving clinical outcomes, and fostering collaboration across government, industry, and care providers will be key to building a future-ready healthcare system," Kumar added. Siddhartha Bhattacharya will keep on serving as the Secretary General of NATHEALTH, leading the organization in improving strategic partnerships, expanding regional stakeholder engagement, and connecting with policymakers to initiate a progressive new step in the Indian healthcare scenario.
"The inclusion of leaders from diagnostics and medical technology would strengthen the organisation’s ability to drive systemic change across the healthcare ecosystem. She noted that as India progresses towards the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, leadership with a comprehensive understanding of the continuum of care will be crucial to building a system focused on prevention, patient safety, and long-term wellbeing," Reddy said.
NATHEALTH is the pivot for the healthcare ecosystem. It aligns itself with the aspirations of the different forums - medical technology, innovation, providers, diagnostics, insurance, home care, senior care, education, and private equity/value chain- to build a unified industry voice and power the next wave of progress in Indian healthcare.
