AIIMS MBBS student goes missing after leaving handwritten note, found hours later

The student has been identified as 25 years old resident of Jaisalmer district in Rajasthan. He left the hostel on Wednesday morning around 5 AM without informing anyone. The matter came to light around 8:45 AM when his classmates informed AIIMS authorities that he had not attended college.

Upon receiving the information, authorities began searching his hostel room. During the search, they found a handwritten note consisting of 16-17 pages. AIIMS officials then immediately informed the police about the matter.

After getting the information, the police immediately went to the college. On this, a senior police officer informed that the last known location of his mobile phone was traced to Para Pipliya, after which the phone was switched off. Following the location trace, the police launched a search operation, and after a 12-hour search, he was found in the village. After he was found, he was brought to the Gandhigram police station and his statement was recorded.

Meanwhile, speaking to TOI about the matter, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-2) Rakesh Desai said that the note mentioned unrequited love for a female student and alleged harassment by some other students. Therefore, the woman mentioned in the note was summoned by the police, but she confirmed that he had never confessed his feelings to her.

Subsequently, Viral Ravaliya of Gandhigram police station conducted further investigation into the matter. During the investigation, the investigating officer learned that he had gone missing from the hostel before, but was later found at a Vipassana centre near Rajkot.

Furthermore, AIIMS officials denied these allegations and stated that proper procedures were followed after the matter came to their attention.
