Kashmir MBBS student goes missing in Russia

MBBS Student Goes Missing in Russia
Kashmir: In a shocking incident, a medical student from India has been missing in Russia since December 10.
Gaurav, a 21-year-old from Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, who was pursuing his MBBS degree in Russia, has reportedly disappeared. His sudden disappearance has raised great concern among his family back home, and they have appealed to the central government for help in finding him.
The medico has been studying for his MBBS degree at Yaroslav the Wise Novgorod State University (NovSU) in Veliky Novgorod, Russia, along with his younger sister. He had been studying in Russia for the past three years and had never reported any problems.
The family came to know about his disappearance the next day when his sister informed them that he was missing. His roommate told her that they had searched for him extensively but couldn't find him. He had left his identity card, mobile phone, and wallet in his hostel room but had taken his bank card with him.
Speaking to the TNIE, Gaurav's mother said that he has been missing since December 10th. He left his hostel room that evening without telling his roommate anything and has not returned since.
Meanwhile, his mother has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and the Ministry of External Affairs to take up the matter with the Russian government.
Few months back, Medical Dialogues had reported a similar case where a 24-year-old medical student from Alwar district, Rajasthan, has reportedly gone missing under mysterious circumstances in Russia. The student, Singh, a resident of Kafanwada village in the Laxmangarh area, was pursuing an MBBS degree at Bashkir State Medical University in Ufa. He has reportedly been missing since the night of October 19, sparking concern among family members and officials.
