Dr Ramesh Bharti appointed as Principal of GMCH Chamba
Himachal Pradesh: Dr Ramesh Bharti has been appointed as the Principal of the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College and hospital of Chamba. The appointment was made last week.
Dr Ramesh Bharti served as the Head of the Department of Surgery at Tanda Medical College since 2005. He has specialized in cancer surgery and has received a fellowship from the World Health Organization (WHO). He is the former Principal of Tanda Medical College from January 2017 to April 2018.
He had also served as the Head of the Department of Surgery at Tanda Medical College. Now he has been appointed as the Principal of Chamba Medical College. Dr Ramesh Bharti has performed more than 200 operations while he was appointed principal at Tanda Medical College. He has also been the President of the Northern Chapter of the Indian Surgeons Association from 2015 to 2017.
Jagran reports that while receiving the responsibility of the principal, Dr Bharti said that before being a principal, he is a doctor, and in order to ensure proper service and treatment for the patients seeking help in the institution every effort will be made. He will always strive to solve every problem of patients coming to Chamba Medical College.
He added that he will try to carry out all his duties and responsibilities with great diligence. For the progress of Chamba Medical College, he sought the cooperation and support of all staff including faculty members. He also confirmed that efforts will be made to raise all health facilities in the Medical College with the help of all employees and the government.
Addressing the faculty members, and staff at the institute, he further added that "Medical colleges play a central and critical role in quality health care of the population. They provide essential services by providing tertiary health care, by producing competent healthcare professionals, and by research to face the ever-changing challenges in the medical field. Teaching and training of undergraduate MBBS students is a great responsibility.."
