Final year Nursing student allegedly commits suicide after prolonged severe abdominal pain

Chamarajanagar: In an unfortunate incident, a final year nursing student of a private college in Kollegal reportedly committed suicide after she suffereing severe stomach pain for several days.
The 20-year-old student was found dead hanging inside her room at her residence in Hosahampapura village of Kollegal taluk on Friday night.
According to the police, the student was suffering from extreme stomach pain for the past few days and was undergoing medical treatment. However, she was unable to tolerate the continuous pain, which reportedly affected her mental health and pushed her into depression.

The incident occurred while her family members were asleep. On Saturday morning, when she did not come out of her room, her parents knocked on the door and tried calling her. When there was no response, they broke open the door and found her hanging.
Obnews reported that the police reached the spot, conducted a preliminary investigation, and sent the body for post-mortem examination.
Although preliminary investigations indicate that her extreme stomach pain was the primary reason behind her suicide, the Kollegal Town Police have registered a case and are probing the matter further to determine if there were any additional contributing factors.
Her untimely death has left her family, classmates, and the local community in deep shock and grief.
Medical Dialogues had reportedly that a 24-year-old first-year MBBS student at Government Medical College Korba, died by suicide in his hostel room. His classmates found him after he failed to appear for an exam. The student had failed in his previous exams and was likely under academic pressure. A suicide note was recovered, in which he apologised to his father.
The student, 24, was found hanging in his hostel room on the college campus within the jurisdiction of the Civil Lines police station, City Superintendent of Police Bhushan Ekka said.
