Kottayam Medical College to get 200-bed cardiology block worth Rs 36.42 crores
The CM also said that the construction of the surgical block for Rs. 134.45 crores and the medical & surgical store for Rs. 3 crores will be completed on time.
Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan today announced that administrative approval has been given for a new 200-bed cardiology block at Kottayam Medical College. He said this at the inauguration of various projects of the Medical College built with Rs. 36.42 crores funding from NABARD.
Inaugurating through video conference, the Chief Minister said, "The starting of a special block for the treatment of heart disease would pave the way for the development of cardiology and cardiothoracic disciplines at the Kottayam Medical College. The Medical College was able to raise the profile of Kerala to the world by treating the 93 and 88-year-old COVID affected couple with special care."
The CM also said that the construction of the surgical block for Rs. 134.45 crores and the medical & surgical store for Rs. 3 crores will be completed on time. The amount was allocated through KIIFB. The surgical block is part of the first phase Rs 564 crores master plan for the development of Kottayam Medical College. Resident Quarters, Ladies Hostel, Negative Pressure ICU, New Wards, ICU, and Toilet Complex built at a cost of Rs 42.69 crores were inaugurated today.
