Viral Video: Man bows down before doctor seeking to perform autopsy of his nephew
Indore: Desperate to perform the last rites of his nephew who died in a road mishap, a man bowed down before a government doctor requesting him to conduct an autopsy of the deceased.
A video of the incident has recently surfaced on social media. The family of the deceased wanted to conduct the last rites of a youth who passed away in a road accident. The incident took place in Indore District Hospital on Sunday. As per a recent media report, an 18-year-old youth met an accident on Sunday and sustained heavy injuries. He was rushed to the district hospital but doctors declared him dead.
Police said that the incident took place at around 1.30 pm but the police were informed at about 3.15 pm. A police team visited the hospital and sent the body for autopsy. When the body was being taken to the post-mortem centre following the police instruction, the doctor's duty shift ended and he was leaving the facility to go home. The deceased's family members requested him to conduct the autopsy as they did not want to delay and wanted to perform his last rites, reports Free Press Journal.
However, the doctor's shift ended and he reportedly refused to conduct the autopsy. Under such circumstances, the uncle of the deceased bowed down before the doctor and requested him to perform the autopsy. In the viral video, the man could be seen sitting on his knees in front of the doctor with folded hands. The man even touched the legs of the doctor and desperately requested him to conduct the autopsy.
When the senior district administration officials came to know about the whole incident, they took matters into their own hands and the autopsy was later performed at 8pm. The body was also handed over to family members accordingly.
