Amid cadaver remarks row, KEM MBBS medico accused of using fake caste certificate for admission

Fake
New Delhi: The ST certificate of the MBBS student of KEM Hospital, who recently landed in controversy over her alleged inappropriate remarks about cadavers during comedian's show, is now facing questions on social media.
An X user alleged that the student may have secured admission under the Scheduled Tribe (ST) quota using fake documents. The user claimed that after checking information available on her college website and academic records, they found that she had allegedly obtained her seat under the ST category.
However, the user claimed that the student's surname does not appear in the Central list of Scheduled Tribes. However, it added that her surname are recognised as subgroups of the Bhil tribal community, which she reportedly does not belong to.
The user said, "If these allegations are true, the Maharashtra government should conduct a fair probe into her ST certificate and bring the truth to light. If the investigation reveals that she grabbed the seat by exploiting a fake ST category, then strict action should be taken as per the law."
The allegation comes days after the student received backlash for allegedly making inappropriate remarks about the private parts of male cadavers during the comedy show in a clip that went viral on social media.
While the medical community heavily criticised her and raised questions about her ethics, the Maharashtra Cyber police have registered an FIR against her, the comedian, and several others in the case.
The Controversy
The controversy began during a crowd interaction segment at "The Ashleel Show", a live crowdwork comedy show performed and hosted by Pranit More, organised by The Laugh Store.
At one interaction, the comedian reportedly asked the student whether doctors remain serious while handling cadavers during anatomy postings and post-mortem work.
Responding to this, the concerned medico allegedly made an inappropriate statement about cadavers related to comparing the sizes of male cadavers' private parts while studying anatomy. The video soon went viral and gained severe condemnation from doctors, medical students and social media users.
Members of the medical fraternity said that cadavers are treated with utmost respect in medical colleges because they are donated bodies that help students learn human anatomy. Therefore, they said that such comments hurt the dignity of body donors and could negatively affect public trust in body donation for medical education.
As the backlash intensified, the medico reportedly issued a public apology on social media. In her statement, she said the topic was sensitive and admitted that her comments came across in a way they should not have.
Sent on forced leave
As per the IANS report on its official X handle, the college authorities have sent the student on 15 days of forced leave following the controversy. She has been barred from entering the hospital, college, and hostel premises during this period. A five-member committee has been formed and is expected to submit its report within seven days.
KEM Hospital and Medical College has expressed concern that the controversy surrounding her may affect her mental well-being and has advised her to undergo counselling to prevent stress or depression. Her parents broke down before the hospital administration and apologised for the incident.
Commenting under the post, one user questioned the formation of an inquiry committee and wrote, "What exactly would a 5-member committee enquire into? The audio is clear, the video is clear... If she is stating the facts, why not punish her?"
