The symptoms began to show when he was in Class III and continued till Class VII. Although medication and proper diet helped bring the situation under control. But it resurfaced two years back, during the peak of his NEET preparation.
“Due to swelling in my feet and face, I could not walk properly. Digestion was a major issue. I could not focus on NEET preparation. It was affecting my studies. I was sleeping most of the time,” said Muduli.
“My father has problems in his spine and neck. I have been suffering from kidney ailments since childhood. We always face financial constraints because of these health issues,” he added.
Meanwhile, this was not his initial attempt at the examination. He had previously taken the NEET twice and failed to pass, making this his third try.
His dedication and strong will have made him achieve an all-India rank of 1721 in the overall category and 583 in the OBC category. He had completed Class XII in 2022 from Nimapara Autonomous College.
“I could not do well in the exam. But my patience and perseverance helped me in this struggle. After taking medicines and controlling my diet, I am now feeling better,” he told TOI.
Speaking about his hardships, Muduli said “As I have no money, I could not enroll in any coaching institute. I could not get any good rank in 2022 and 2023. Finally, I approached the Zindagi Foundation for help. The founder of this organization, Ajay Bahadur Singh, gave me free coaching, accommodation, and food during preparation. Now, I hope to get an MBBS seat at SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack."
“After joining MBBS, I will try to treat my condition with the help of experts. After becoming a doctor, I will help my father get the best treatment. I will conduct research on my health condition and find a better treatment for me,” he added.
Singh from the Zindagi Foundation said "I got emotional after listening to his problems over the phone. We brought Muduli to Bhubaneswar for better preparation. He stayed here for one year and cracked the exam. All 20 students, including Muduli, qualified this year in NEET."
