Punjab: 114 staff nurses, 93 multipurpose female health workers issued appointment letters
Encouraging the newly appointed staff, Principal Secretary Health Hussain Lal said that these appointments have been made during the Covid epidemic and it's our duty to provide maximum medical care facilities to the general public.
Chandigarh: The Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh has been recruiting a large number of doctors and other paramedical staff to further improve the health services. Under which Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu today handed over appointment letters to 114 staff nurses and 93 multipurpose health workers (females).
Disclosing this here recently, the Health Minister said that under Ghar Ghar Rozgar Yojna, out of 598 sanctioned posts of staff nurses, 114 staff nurses have been recruited. Similarly, out of 600 posts of Multipurpose Health Workers (Female), 93 Multipurpose Health Workers (Female) have been recruited on regular basis. While the remaining posts will be filled in a phased manner as soon as possible. All these appointments are being made by the Department of Health and Family Welfare in a transparent manner on the basis of merit, he said.

Congratulating the newly appointed staff of the Health Department, the Health Minister said that with the untiring efforts of the Health Department, the coronavirus has been brought under control in Punjab to a large extent and he is confident that you too will discharge your responsibilities with sincerity and diligence in the hospitals.

Addressing the gathering Director Health Services (Family Welfare) Punjab Dr. Prabhdeep Kaur Johal said that the corona epidemic is not over yet and Covid cases are reported daily from the State. So wear a mask to prevent corona and wash your hands from time to time with soap and water and strictly follow the rules of social distance.
It may be recalled that the Health Department Punjab has filled 7000 posts of paramedical and other staff including medical officers from the year 2017 to 2019 while recruitment of 3954 posts is under process.
Political Secretary to the Health Minister Harkesh Chand Sharma Machhlikalan, Superintendent Suraj Kumar and Supinder Singh, Mass Media Officer Gurmeet Singh Rana, Harcharan Singh Brar and other officials were also present on the occasion.
