Kota: 24-year-old NEET aspirant dies after falling into canal

death
Kota: In a tragic incident, a 24-year-old NEET aspirant accidentally fell into the main canal under the Kunhadi police station area in Kota late Thursday evening and was swept away by the strong current.
Police immediately launched a search operation, but had to suspend it due to the darkness. The body was recovered on Friday morning and handed over to the family after a post-mortem examination.
The deceased has been identified as a resident of Jaipur district. He had been preparing for the NEET exam for the past four years and was currently living in a hostel in Kunhari.
According to the police, he was returning to his hostel with friends on Thursday evening after visiting a picnic spot in the city. Around 6 PM, he stopped and went down to the main canal to wash his hands and face in the flowing water. While doing so, he accidentally fell into the water and was immediately swept away by the strong current.
Speaking to TOI about the incident, Mangal Lal Yadav, the Circle Inspector of Kunhadi Police Station, said that upon receiving the information, the police and a team of divers from the Kota Municipal Corporation (KMC) immediately reached the spot and launched a search operation. However, the search had to be suspended due to darkness and was resumed on Friday morning. During this time, the deceased's body was found about 500 meters away in the Nanta police station area.
The police handed over the body to the family later in the day after the post-mortem examination and registered a case under Section 194 of the BNSS for investigation. Meanwhile, Chetan Sharma, the Circle Inspector of Nanta Police Station, said that the family has not yet expressed any suspicion regarding the death not being accidental.
